Osaka and Kyoto,
Japan
November 24-30, 2005
The spring of
2005 was a difficult time for my family, due to the death of my father after
a fourteen year battle with ALS. In an effort to regroup, my mother decided
that the family needed to take vacation together. In particular, she wanted
to take a tour of Osaka and Kyoto.
Despite this being touted as a family trip, Rock and Alice (my brother and sister-in-law) couldn't join us from DC, which was particularly disappointing because Alice actually speaks Japanese. Thus, the trip consisted of myself, my mother, and my younger brother, Rex.
This journal of my trip
has been divided by day. A few photos are pictured with the text, though the
majority of them are hyperlinked to pop up from a new window. Due to time constraints
(and laziness, I'll admit), some of the photos are very large and have not been
color corrected--for those problems, I apologize. However, the pictures are
still pretty, and I hope you will enjoy looking through them.
